FINAL HARRIER CLUB RACE TOMORROW

The final race of the season for the Wanganui Harrier Club will be held tomorrow, when the annual road race from the top of the Wangaehu Hill to the Town Bridge will be staged. Excellent entries have Deen received from other clubs,' and combined with local entries, a very interesting race should eventuate. With the course record made by W. J. Wells, the N.Z. champion last year, the back markers will be out to eclipse this. Wells is having a short spell prior to the Olympic trials, so he will not be a starter this year, but strong competition for fastest time honours should come from Robertson (Marton), Lamberton (Feilding), Bromley (Marton) and Tabor (Palmerston North) AH these runners ran exceedingly well last week in the Bulls to Mai ton race of nine miles, with Robertson getting time honours. There is plentj of good talent amongst the middle markers that should make the back markers work hard, while there is always the possibility of the limit markers upsetting calculations. The race, which is over a distance of 8i miles, is timed to start at 2 p.m., and transport for Wanganui members will leave the Union Boatshed at 1.30 p.m. - All members are also reminded of the 12-mile senior road race and fourmile junior road race at Feilding on October 11 Handicaps for tomorrow's event have been declared as follows:—S.
