WAITOTARA NEWS

AID FOR BRITAIN C AMPAIGN. <O.C.) Waitotara. Sept. 28 At. the monthly meeting of the Aid for Britain Committee in Waitotara, two letters were received from the New Zealand Rod Cross Society, Wellington. acknowledging receipt of money recently sent. Tn connection with the money sent last April, honey being a commodity most acceptable to the people in Britain, the N.Z. Red Cross purchased 4() cases, each case containing twelve 51b. tins. This was shipped on the s.s. Paringa to the Ministry of Food, London, who can be relied upon to see that it reaches those most urgently in need. From that organisation a letter has already been received acknowledging the gift, which reads, inter alia: - "Will you please convey to your members our sincere thanks on behalf of the folk who will receive a share of this very acceptable gift. The recipients will be informed that this has come from your centre, and I am sure you will, in time, receive individual letters of thanks from them. As these letters are usually sent by sea mail, it may be some time before they reach you." Parcels of clothing had been delivered to the Red Cross Centre, Wanganui, by Mrs. Handley.
