Deputation Urges Wellington Club to Restore False Rail

(P.A.) Wellington, Sept. 29. Messrs. J. A. Higgs, E. Goulden, L. M. Rankin and C. J. McParland, representing the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Owners, Trainers and Breeders Association, waited on the stewards of the Wellington Rao ing Club today asking for consideration of several suggestions sponsored by the Association. The chief item among the subjects discussed was the restoration of the "false rail" at Trenrham.

Strong arguments in support of this measure were advanced by W. J. Broughton, chairman of the New Zealand Jockeys' Association, who stated that members of his organisation were unanimously in favour of the false rail and advocated its adoption on every course where it was found possible to instal it. The stewards of the racing club promised the deputation to consider their submissions at a later meeting.
