Mr Dalrymple told the meeting that the club had purchased land on which they had the makings of one of the best golf courses in the district, providing dry fairways all the year. The fairwavs 'had become gorse ridden and would require a great deal ot time and money spent on them. The club had a credit ot £9O in hand but this would not go far and he said the members would have to rally round with working bees. Mr. Ken Field suggested opening subscription lists and narked up his suggestion with a donation of £5. The chairman explained that theie was a difficulty in getting the right Kind of labour for the job of putting the greens in order and thought the members themselves should do this part.
