HARRIERS SHOW GOOD FORM IN SATURDAY’S PACK RACES
Under ideal weather conditions, a pack race over the Durie Hill course of about 6 miles, was conducted by the Wanganui Harrier Club on Saturday. The 33 senior runners were divided into live packs ana set olt at handicap intervals, while the 11 juniors were divided into three packs. Despite the nature of the hilly country, which was hard going *or some of the members, and the hard run down Portal Street, some excellent times were put up, in both senior and junior sections. All packs teamed well, this serving as good training ior the inter-club races which are to lollow later in the season. The form ot some of the competitors will prove a task for the handicapper. Tne first of the handicap races to be held nexl Saturday, when the first series ot the Excelsior and Alistair Hose Cups Wil. be held from the Gonville Baths.
