SON OF FORMER MARTON MAGISTRATE TO BE SECOND MEMBER OF N.Z. NAVAL BOARD
(PA.) Auckland, May 11. After an absence of 32 years, during which time he rose from a 13-year-old cadet to a captain of the Royal Navy and the first New Zealander to hold oflice on the Nava) Board, Captain J. S. Hewitt, D. 5.0., R.N., son of Mr. J. GL. Hewitt, formerly Stipendiary Magistrate at Marton, and now living at Bucklands, returned to New Zealand on the Ruahine on Saturday Captain Hewitt will succeed Captain Mark Taylor as Second Naval Member of the board. The new First Naval Membet, Commodore G. W. G. Simpson, C.8.E., will relieve Commodore G. 11. Faulkner, D.S.C., R.N., shortly.
