MEETING OF BULLS BRANCH , nr -. Bulls, May 4. The annual meeting of the Bulls branch of the National Party was held last night, Mr. R. O. Dalrymple piesidinf over 65 members. Apologies were received from Mrs. Brookie, Mrs G. Young, Mrs. J. A Cornfoot, Messrs T. P. McGrath and 1. Carson. The chairman in reviewing the past year's activities congratulated Mr. E. B. Gordon on retaining the Rangitikei seat, saying his majority of -000 spoke for itself. Mr. Marumaru was also congratulated on his game fight for the Maori seat, saying that it was not his fault nor that of the local committee that he was not successful. Thanks were due to Messrs Hill Bios, for the use of their office on election day, to those who loaned cars and to the scrutineers, Messrs R. J. Gray, R. Simpson and I. Jamieson. He also paid a tribute to the local Maori committee for their co-operation. The speaker concluded with a welldeserved tribute to the branch's chief executive officer, Mr. WdlhgJPtrgen’s who had done great in his capacity as secretary; The election of officers resulted as under: Chairman, Mr. R. O. Dalrymple (who when re-elected urged everyone to be ready as they were, living in very interesting times and anything might happen); hon. secretary. Mr. Jurgens; vice-chairmen, Messrs. E. W. Smart and W. W. Wilson; general committee, Messrs J. A. Corn foot, G. Young, T. P. McGrath, W. Guy, L. G. M. Taverner, D. Ross, W. J. Ellery, J. H. Russell, E. W. Smart, D. Brookie, T. R. Allen, R. Mackay, C. W. Hill, R. Kemp L, R. Vile, P. Richardson, P. Naera, T. Rogers and R. Young. Delegates were appointed for the electorate meeting (to be held in Marton on Wednesday, May 28) as under: Messrs E. W Smart, W. W. Wilson, L. G. M. Taverner, R. Mackay, J. A. Cornfoot, D. Ross, D. Brookie, I. Jamieson, F. Calleson, P. Naera and lady representatives. Mr. J. Caithness, chairman of the Marton branch, joined in eulogies voiced by the chairman and said how sorry they were to be losing the service of their organiser, Mr. Arthur

Holland, in which the latter gave a very inspiring message to all party members and sounded a new note of hopefulness for the welfare of the country.
