WANGANUI CREWS DID WELL IN H.B. ROWING REGATTA
(Special) Napier. March 16. Wanganui crews were prominent on Saturday in the first rowing regatta held on the Ngaruroro River at Clive for several years. Conditions were ideal. The' water was smooth and there were several close finishes. Crews from Wanganui, Wellington, Poverty Bay and Napier participated. Results. Youth fours—Napier 1, Aramoho 2, Union 3. One length; six lengths. Senior singles. V/. Taylor (Wellington) 1, D. N. Crabbe (Union) 2; D. McLeod (Star) 3. Two feet; four lengths. Crabbe was unlucky and hit the bank to lose several lengths. Maiden fours.—Union 1, Poverty Bay 2, Aramoho 3. Six lengths; one length. Youth Singles.—M. Fraser (Wellington) 1. D. Morrison (Aramoho) 2, A. Paul (Union) 3 Ten lengths; 12 lengths. Senior fours.—Aramofcw 1, Union 2, Napier 3. Seven lengths; four lengths. Lightweight maiden fours. —Aramoho 1, Union 2, Napier 3. Six lengths; two lengths . Maiden singles.—M. Fraser (Wellington) 1, C. Marchant (Union) 2 ,L .Managh (Aramoho) 3. Six lengths; two lengths. Junior fours.—Union 1, Gisborne 2, Aramoho 3. One length; half length.
