RANGITATAU SPORTS
Amid brilliant sunshine and pleasant surroundings the Rangitatau Settlers held their annual sports meeting on Saturday, March 1- Competition was keen and horses came from far afield. All agreed that it was the most succesfui meeting ever held. A feature of the day was a donkey kindly brought by Mr. J. Lupton, which added to the funds of the club and providing great amusement for children. The sawing competition, which required both skill and speed was Keenly enjoyed by all. The loud speaker was well up to standard with its announcements. In the evening all were entrtained at a dance in the Orangimea Hall, Results:— Jumping.—Maiden jump: Miss D. Aston 1, A. Jones 2, A.
