The dispute about Hungary overshadows the opening of the conference, yet this is not a bad moment t be reminded how real is the struggle between the opposing principles which the Foreign Ministers must reconcile. The warning from Budapest will not be lost on the Foreign Ministers. However they may interpret it, unilateral Allied intervention in the domestic politics of enemy countries under common control can only do harm. If unanimous Allied intervention is impossible there had better bn nore at all.
