DELAY PREVENTED M.C.C. ELEVEN STOPPING IN WANGANUI YESTERDAY
A delay of approximately two hours in their travelling schedule made it impossible for the English M.C.C. cricket eleven to break their journey from Auckland to Wellington for afternoon tea in Wanganui yesterday. The Wanganui Cricket Asssciation had arranged a small reception for the Englishmen in the RS.A. Hall, at which members of the association, together with leading public men of the city, were to meet the tourists. Afternoon t?.a was provided by the ladies of the association, and although the visitors did not appear, those present partook of the refreshments.
