DACOITS IN BURMA ATTACK VILLAGES
Recd. 9 p.m. Rangoon, March 8. A British Burma Command communique announced that British, Indian and Burmese troops are being sent with armoured cars to the Pegu Toungoo and Yamethin districts to smash a would-be Dacoit dictatorship. Dacoits, using maehjne-guns and hand-grenades, were attacking and even taxing villagers and paralysing Government administration. Bandits derailed a train near Pyinyaung, 25 miles from Thazi, and shot and killed 28 passengers. Reuter’s Rangoon correspondent says the killed included seven British non-commis-sioned Fourteen passengers were injured
