WHIMS OF THE FILM CENSORS
The whims of the film censorship authorities produce a constant stock of quaint stories, and the latest comes from Seymour Nebenzal, who is producing “Heaven Only Knows.” In his story the Copper Queen saloon and dance hall burns down. The script calls for Robert Cummings to emerge from the 'inferno gallantly carrying corsets and other intimate bits of apparel, to receive the vociferous thanks of their lovely owners. But Nebenzal received a stern communication from the Johnston office forbidding such morally subversive humour.
