TAIHAPE LEADS IN INIER-CLUB SWIMMING COMPETITION
CARNIVAL AT HUNTERVILLE MARTON IN SECOND PLACE. (0.C.) Hunterville, Feb. 23. Under ideal weather conditions the second series of events for the trophypresented by Mr. Deal (Taihape) was staged in the Hunterville swimming batns yesterday in the presence of a large attendance of the public. The tropny is for competition between the Taihape, Marten and Hunterville clubs, the first series of events being held at Marton some weeks ago vvtih the final series to he held at Taihape next week. Competition was keen yesterday, but Taihape again proved the much stronger club and appear certain now to be the first holders of the cup. Aller the Marton carnival the points were; Taihape 384, Marton 28 and Hunterville 19, and yesterday Taihape added another 43, to bring their total to 811, Marton added 23, to bring up 51. and Hunterville annexed 16, to secure an aggregate of 35. The Hunterville Club is weaket in competitive swimmers this year than for many seasons, but the few entrants which the club was able to produce in the events, performed creditably.
