Sheep Entered in Wrong Sale Because of a transposition of three or four lines of type in yesterday’s issue, an entry of 600 two-tooth ewes, on account of O’Neill Bros., Ann Bank. Turakina, which are for sale, was wrongly advertised to be offered at the Fordell sale to-day. This line is to be offered at the Wanganui sale by Freeman R. Jackson and Co., Ltd., tomorrow, not at Fordell to-day. Spectacular Horse Events. The Wangaehu Sports Club's Gymkana, held on Saturday, drew what was estimated as a record crowd for any similar fixture in the area. The day was an outstanding success in every way. The judge of the horse events, Mr. A. Bamber, was reported as stating that the display was one of the best fixtures of its kind that he had ever witnessed, the horses and also the exhibition of riding being of the highest standard. Inward bound for the city on Sunday night, the Castlecliff tram which reached McGruer's Corner at 6 p.m. narrowly averted a collision with a car, which pulled up little more than a “coat of paint” away from the tram. The tram was nearly 50 yards from the Guyton Street level crossing and the car was approaching Spriggens Park from Ridgway Street Extension. The consensus of opinion was that the driver of the car would not be able to pull up in time, as he was “stretching his luck a bit.” A little girl in the tram echoed the feelings of the passengers by remarking “That was a close shave, Mummy”—and indeed it was!
