PAPER WISELY CONTROLLED IN BRITAIN
(P.A.) Auckland, Jan. 30. Praise of the manner in which the supply of paper was controlled in the United Kingdom, came from Colouel A. L. Wilson, a member of an English educational publishing concern, when he arrived by flying boat from Sydney. He was last in New Zealand in 1939, and intends to see the educational authorities in connection with the sales of educational text books. The paper supply position in Britain was still acute, he said, but the authorities wisely allocated educational publishers 90 per cent, of their 1939 consumption on account of the importance attached to the production of serious books.
