NO CLEAVAGE

DUNEDIN TRAMWAY WORKERS (P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 29. There was no indication of cleavage among members of the Dunedin branch of the New Zealand Tramway Workers’ Union, said the national secretary of the union (Mr. P. A. Hansen) to-day, when reports from Dunedin on the matter were referred to him. Mr. Hansen said that the results of the election of officers at the annual meeting of the Dunedin branch last Saturday had been received and also reports regarding thqt meeting. The information, particularly the re-elec-tion of last year’s officers and management committee, did not indicate cleavage in the branch. “The reports I have received from Dunedin claim that the election of officers has, in no uncertain manner, confirmed the policy carried out by the Dunedin branch during the last 12 months,” said Mr. Hansen. He mentioned that the president, of the branch (Mr. W. B. Richards) had been reelected with 221 votes compared with 93 votes recorded for his opponent.
