WARNING OF BOMBS PLACED IN BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Recd. 9.5 p.m. London, Jan. 30. While the Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee),| other] members! of Cabinet, and their wives, last night were attending Their Majesties’ Buckingham Palace farewell party before leaving for South Africa, an anonymous call was received at a nearby telephone exchange, saying that bombs had been placed in the Palace, to explode on Friday, the day of their Majesties’ departure. “The Daily Telegraph” says the message was given by a gruffvoicod man, and was immediately passed to Scotland Yard, who informed the police on duty at the Palace. A thorough search was made, but nothing was found.
