CHURCH CAMPAIGN AGAINST ALCOHOLISM
A conference with sister churches on the campaign against alcoholism was agreed upon at Wednesday nigltt's session of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. No extension of the Closing hour beyond the present 6 p.m. is favoured by the assembly, delegates holding that the harm of rush drinking just before six o’clock being small compared with the menace which would be created if late drinking was permitted. The assembly also disapproves of the suggestion of the Royal Commission on Licensing that licences should be granted restaurants.'
