ELECTION NOMINATIONS NEXT FRIDAY

Nominations of candidates for the General Election will close at noon on Friday, November 15. This date is fixed by the writs issued on Wednesday to returning officers to proceed with the election. The writs, on which must be endorsed the names of the successful candidates are returnable by December 16.

A candidate must be nominated by at least two electors of tiie electoral district for which he is standing. Th». nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of £lO, but this will be refunded to all candidates who poll more than one-quarter of the votes received by the successful candidate. Those who poll less than that number of votes will forfeit their deposits, which will be paid into the Consolidated Fund.

A special Gazette contains a list of the polling places for all electorates.
