CHILD HIT BY CAR, DIES SOON AFTER
(P.A.) Greymouth, Oct. 6. Peter John Hayes, aged six and a-half, was struck by a car on the Black Ball main highway at 1 o'clock to-day, and died a few moments later. The car was driven by the Rev. Brettell, Presbyterian Minister.
The inquest was opened at Blackball this afternoon before Mr. M. J. Fogarty, J.P. After evidence of the father, Mr. William Hayes, miner, It was adjourned sine die.
