FORMER TARANAKI NURSE ON DUTY WITH U.N.R.R.A. IN CHINA

A former Plu'hket Society nurse has been appointed regional nursing consultant with U.N.R.R.A.’s China Mission. She recently arrived in Shanghai and has already commenced duty in Hankow. She is Miss Joyce Marv Horner, nf Dunedin.
Since July. 1945, when she joined U.N.R.R A. and left for overseas, she has been attached as a nurse to Team 154 at Muhldorg, about 50 miles east of Munich, in the United States of Germany. In all. she has controlled seven teams, caring for 3413 people. The public health and nursing programme which she organised and carried on was considered by expert* as one of the best in existence. Born in Miss Horner is a triplecertificated nurse. She was with the Plunket Society for ten years and before that worked in the district nuring service. She holds the Dlnioma of Nursing from the post-graduate school of nurses at Victoria College, Wellington.
