THREE WANGANUI WINNERS AT OTAKI SPRING MEETING
Though the Wanganui-trained Hulabaloo sprang a surprise in winning the Ling Memorial Stakes at Otaki on Saturday, returning a dividend of two score, most of the winners were well backed and this assisted in establishing a fresh totalisator record for the course. At Hastings the favourite, Opulent, won the Hawke’s Bay Guineas and Canronella again won the principal event. Artificer won the main race, the Somers Memorial Gup, at Te Arolia, and Joy Bosa again won the main race at the Dunedin meeting. On the other side of the Tasman the favourites were defeated in the A.J.C. Derby and the. Epsom Handicap at Randwick, and Bernborough continued his winning sequence.
