TRIBUTES TO RETIRING LANDS OFFICER
(P.A.) Parliament Bldgs., Oct. 2. A tribute to the Assistant Undersecretary for Lands, Mr. T. Pound, who has retired, was paid by the Prime Minister, Mr. P. Fraser, at a farewell function given to Mr. Pour'. Mr. Fraser said that Mr. Pound typified all that was best in the public servant, while his firm advocacy of the interests of public servants during his seven years as president of the Public Service Association had been admirable.
Other tributes were paid by the Minister of Lands, Mr. C. F. Skinner; the president of the Public Service Association, Mr. J. Leain, and by others.
Mr. Pound is succeeded by Mr. S. T. Barnett, who has been solicitor to the department.
