VALUES AT WESTFIELD

(P.A.) Auckland, Oct. 2. At the Westfield stock sale ox beef was penned in large numbers and values eased about Is per lOOlbs. Cow and heifer beef was in less than average supply and said readily, with values on a par with last week’s sale. Although there was a steady demand for the sheep penned in average numbers, values for prime wethers eased. Prime ewes sold at late quotations; spring lambs, in increased numbers, sold readily at from £1 7s to £2 4s 6d

| A small yarding of calves was i penned and bidding was very keen ' for all classes, values showing a further improvement on last week's sale. There was a good yarding of both pork and bacon and prices for all classes were fully equal to recent sales.
