POUKIORE DOG TRIALS
RESULTS OF RECENT FIXTURE. (0.C.) Hunterville. April 22. With 57 entries in the huntaway competition and 29 in the short head and 32 in the long head the second annual trials of the Poukiore Collie Club were an outstanding success, reflecting credit on an enterprising and hard-working committee. Results are as follows: Long Head.—H. H. Harris’ General Haigh, 46i points, 1; R. O. White’s Queen. 44 points, 2; 'l'. Hammond's Fay, 42, 3; A. J. Mundy’s Craig, 41, 4; W. Ross’ Faith, 404, 5; A. Cleghorn’s Lad. 39J, 6; E. Wilson’s Paddy, 39, 7. The special prize for the local maiden dog was won by N. Ross’ Spy (38 points), while N. 'Ross won the specials for local maiden man. local shepherd and maiden man, open. The special for maiden man Poukiore district, went to K. Berrett. Short Head and Yard.—H. H. Harris' General Haigh. 57 points, 1; J. B. Smith’s Jan 11. 55, 2; E. Wilson’s Paddy, 54, 3; E. Wilson’s Belle, 52. 4; W. Ros.M’ Faith, 11. 5; S. Steedman’s Don, 50, 6; A. Cleghorn’s Lad 49. 7. The special for the local maiden dog was won by E. H. Duncan’s Jock (42 points), while E. H. Duncan also won the specials for local maiden man and open maiden man. The prize for local shepherd went 1o K. Scott, while A. Lopdell annexed the trophj’ for fastest head. Huntaway—W. Agnew's Scot, 44 points 1; J. D. Hurley’s ’l’yke, 43J. 2; F. Wight’s Mate, 43, 3; R. O. White’s Rock, 42i, 4; V. J. Hurley’s Nigger, 4Ti, 5; M. Murphy’s Black. 41, 6; K. Davie’s Joe, 40J, 7. The specials for local maiden dog, open maiden man and local shepherd went to W. Agnew, while C. Ruscoe won the prize for the competitor under 18. The open team’s prize went to R. O. White and the local team’s nrize to M.
