FIXTURE IN AID OF WORTHY CAUSE TAKINGS TOTAL £250 (0.C.) Hunterville, March 8. The Rata Sports Club, through its annual sports meeting held during the war veal’s, made a big contribution to patriotic funds and the sports held last Saturday were in aid of no less worthy a cause—a fund to provide framed photographs of every serviceman of both was. to be hung in the Rata Memorial Hall. Gross takings were £250. There was a large attendance of the public and the programme provided reflected once again the initiative of the club. Results are as follows: Horse Events.

An impromptu event was put on, which caused considerable interest; this was a baby show for babies under 18 months; 13 entries were received, and the judge (Mr. G. McDonald) had a great responsibility placed on him; the winning babies were: Lorraine Wall (Hunterville) 1, Susan Hammond (Porewa) 2.
