MOSCOW SPEAKS
“AGGRESSIVE TONE’’ OF MR. CHURCHILL GROWTH
Reed. 10 p.m. London, March 8. Moscow radio last night broke its silence on Mr. Churchill’s speech by referring to it as a demand lor the creation of a British-American military union in opposition to the Soviet Union,” delivered in a very aggressive tone.” It added that United States Congressmen had already spoken disapprovingly of Mr. Churchill’s proposal. The radio then gave extracts from the speeches of those Senators who had done so, and also quoted Professor Harold Laski’s London speech in which Professor Laski asked if Mr. Churchill was suggesting a Holy Alliance to prevent the growth of Communism. Moscow radio in a later broadcast described the speech as an out-and-out call for the maintenance of British imperialism.
Berlin radio, which is Russian sponsored, also broke silence last night, saying that Mr. Churchill’s proposal threatened the 3’B Three unity.
