RED CROSS SUNDAY
SERVICE AT OPERA HOUSE The annual Sunday service of the Red Cross Society will take place in the Opera House to-morrow afternoon, commencing at 3 o’clock. The president of the local centre, the Rev. A. C. McLean, will conduct the service, assisted by the Ven. Archdeacon J. R. Young. Members of the Junior Red Cross, voluntary aids, transport voluntary workers, and all members have been requested to be present. A large attendance from the various sub-centres is anticipated. A special feature of the service will be the address by Major C. N. Armstrong, who will speak on “The Red Cross in War and Peace.” Major Armstrong was a prisoner of war for some time and after several attempts to escape he was finally successful In getting away from his captors. His experiences in the prison camp and the work of th? Red Cross among the prisoners will be the text of his address.
