ANNIVERSARY DAY IN TARANAKI

Primary and secondary schools throughout the district will be closed on Monday. Main attraction for the holiday will be the second day of the Taranaki Jockey Club's meeting at New Plymouth. a feature of'which will be the running of the 32nd. Taranaki- Stakes. This is the first time since the war that the club has been able to hold a meeting on a day other than Saturday, and racegoers from all parts of the province are expected at this popular fixture.
