TO STAND TRIAL
ELDERLY WOMAN CHARGED Recd. 6 p.m. London, March 6. Mrs. Margaret Bothamley, aged 67, was arrested after leaving the boat train from the Continent to-day, and was charged at Bow Street with assisting the enemy by broadcasting from Germany. The prosecutor said Mrs. Bothamley while in Germany made a statement to the British authorities that she was sympathetic towards Germany. She went to Berlin at the beginning of the war, but was not interned. She agreed to broaden'd tn England provided she was not forced to speak against England. She broadcast until 1945.
Mrs. Bothamley reserved her defence and was committed for trial.
