FIVE MATCHES IN CEYLON (Official News Service). Madras, March 1. In their final game in Ind.a the 2nd N.Z.E.F. hockey team beat a Madras Combined Services side at Madras this week, by two goals to one. The New Zealanders played, sound hockey, particularly in the first spell, and at the interval they led 2-0. In the second half the Kiwis were more on the defensive, and their play was good, even though territorially the match was pvea The ground was bumpy, and the trapping of fast passes was difficult. The team’s departure for Ceylon was delayed, and they will now go on March 3. Their live matches in Ceylon will be at Kanukurunda, Trincomalee, Kandy, Dugatalwa, and Colombo - , , .... In the 22 matches played so far. the New Zealanders have won eleven and lost eleven, with 63 coals scored and 60 scored against them.
