ENGEBRETSEN BEATEN IN PAIRS EVENT, x Hastings, March 5. In a splendid exhibition of bowling, Parkinson (Hastings) beat. Engebretsen (Heretaunga) to win the Hawke s Bay centre’s championship pairs on the Hastings Club’s greens. Results of the final games are as follows:Fifth round: Parkinson (Hastings') (one life) beat Engebretsen (two Jives), 22-16; Clark (Wairere) beat Cuff (Port Ahuriri). 22-18. Sixth round: Engebretsen beat Clark, 22-11. Parkinson, a bye. Final: C. D. Bennett and A. W. Parkinson (S) (Hastings) beat H. V. Berry and J A. Engebretsen (S) (Heretaunva). 21-20.
