LORD WAVELL’S APPEAL
New Delhi, March 4. "Let us here determine that the peace and opportunity which were won by India's lighting men shall not be soiled or squandered by internal strife,” said Lord Wavell in a speech at a parade at the opening of Victory Week in Delhi.
Lord Wavell and General Auchinleck placed wreaths on the war memorial arch.
