An executive committee has been formed in Wanganui for the purpose of fostering the aims and objects of C.0.R.5.0., and this city has an added interest in its work because three members of its community are away on service in Greece under its auspices—Dr. Alison Hunter (Fordell), Dr. Athol Patterson (Wanganui), Miss W. W. McGregor (Wanganui). The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration is becoming well known now to the general public. Its task is to bring to the liberated peoples of Europe thtk kindly hand of assistance needed to restore them to full life after the ravages of war. Q.0.R.5.0. is an organisation representative of 21 voluntary bodies in New Zealand, including churches, who wish to help U.N.R.R.A., in a task which, unless it succeeds, all that went into lighting the war will have been lost. The chairman of the New Zealand executive committee of C.0.R.5.0. is Mr. J. H. Boyes, the vicechairman Mr. C. G. White (Dominion chairman of the New Zealand Red Cross Society). C.O.R.S.A. is representative of the Boys Scouts' Association, British Medical Association (N.Z. Division), Commandery of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, the Dominion Federation of Women’s Institutes, Friends Service Committee (Quakers), Girls Guides’ Association, Inter-church Council on Public Affairs, Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the Red Cross Society. Lady Galway Patriotic Guild, National Council of Churches, National Council of Women, National Missionary-Council, National Patriotic Fund Board, N.Z. Red Cross Society, N.Z. Registered Nurses' Association, N.Z. Student Christian Movement, St. Vincen de Paul Society, Women's Division of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union, Women’s War Service Auxiliary, Y.M.C.A., Y.W.C.A., Zionist Council of New Zealand. C.0.R.5.0 is to help New Zealand* fulfil its obligations to the people of devastated countries, and will provide a method of consultation between the public and the community in that endeavour. Full information is being sought in Wanganui as to the work that can be done by various city and district bodies, and by the people individually. The visit of the organiser, at the end of the month, will enable the executive to become fully informed and a public meeting to meet the organiser will help the public generally.
