LATE MR. B.N.T. BLAKE
FUNERAL AT ARAMOHO Esteem for a man who had devoted more than 40 years’ service to the teaching profes ion was shown yeslerday afternoon at the funeral of the late Mr. B. N. T. Blake, when the members of the Education Department and teaching profession attended in large numbers. Mr. Blake was formerly chief inspector of schools in ihe 'Wanganui education district. The college included Messrs A. F. McMurtrie (As istant Director of Education), C. Robertson (representing the Education Department), G. R. Ashbridge and R. McGlashen (representing the New Zealand Educational Institute), E. F. Hemingway (chaiiman of the Wanganui Education Board), W. G. Price, J. C. Batt, W. H. Brown, (Palmerston North), I. W. Mudford (Foxton), W. P. Mead, L. V. Carmine (Waftuna West), N. Bromiley (Waverley), all board members. G. N. Boull.cn (board secretary), F. Reynold l , (assistant secretary), E. R. Hodge (architect', E. F. Lange (chief agricultural instructor), R. Dickie, and J. F. Johnson (school insnectors), I. E. Newton (a former principal of the Wanganui Technical College), A. F. Bates and A. Crawford (former inspectors).
There was a full representation of teachers from city, suburban and coun'rv schools. Teacher’ we”e also present from the Manawa!v. district. ’Phe pallbearers wore Messrs J. Phillins, C. Robertson, N. Bromiley, and G. Ashbridge. The se vice at Christ Church was conducted bv Archdeacon J. R. Young. The Rev. Reid Anderson, C.F., R.N.Z. A.F., assisted by Archdeacon Young, officiated at the graveside.
