RIDING ENGAGEMENTS

W. J. Broughton and N. B. Holland, rivals for the jockeys’ premiership, will have plenty of travelling during the holiday racing carnival. Broughton, who was at Woodville last Saturday for the Pahiatua meeting and rode two winners, will be at Ellerslie to-dav and Friday and at Awapuni to-morrow and Saturday. Holland will be at New Plymouth to-day and tomorrow, at Ellerslie on Friday, and at Awapuni on Saturday. A. C. Messervy will not be going to Ellerslie for to-day’s racing, and L. J. Clutterbuck will be at AXvapuni, going to Stratford next week. Two Wanganui jockeys, G Ivil and K. Chote, will be at New Plymouth for the Taranaki meeting.
