BUSY PERIOD FOR POST OFFICE Reaching its peak tow the end of last week, the Christmas rush at the Wanganui Chief Post Office involved long hours for inside sorting staffs and pos men on deliveries. Mails generally were slightly heavier than previous' years, with Christmas cards predominating. The rush was well spread over la 1 week, however, hence there was less delay. The employment of extra staff also enabled the huge volume of mail to be disposed of promptly.
