AMERY HAD NO DISEASE OF THE LUNGS

London, Dec. 19. A small group of men and women stood outside Wandsworth gaol this morning in steady rain and watched a warder affix to a door a notice staling: “Judgment of death was this morning executed on John Amery.” Amery, who was aged 33, was found •guilty of treason some weeks ago after pleading guilty. It was at one time thought that the sentence might, be commuted as he was suffering from tuberculosis and had not. long to live. At. an inquest a pathologist, Dr. Cedric Simpson, said a post mortem revealed that Amery had no disease of any kind. The coroner: I have read that Amery is supposed to have had consumption. Witness: He had no disease of the lungs whatever. The jury returned a verdict that death was due to judicial hanging.
