WANGANUI PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Pi'imary schools in the Wanganui Education Board district ended the school year on Wednesday. In the majority o£ cases brief ceremonies were held which were attended by parents and representatives of the school committees The Mayor, Hon W. J. Rogers, attended at Queen's Park on Wednesday, where he addressed pupils. Other speakers were the chairman ot the school committee (Mr. J. Comrie) and T. F. Kerr (headmaster).
The Tutty Memorial was won by Tom Young. A prize for the neatest boy in Standard 4 went to John Vine. The prize for the most improved girl in Standard 4 was won bv Audrey Vine.
Pupils of the Gonville School were addressed by the chairman of the school committee (Mr. J. C. Batt). He also presented a number of certificates. The dux of the school is Catherine McCallum.
Tlte cha'rman of the Wanganui Education Board, Mr. E. F. Hemingway, presented the prizes at the Keith Street School.
