MOOLTAN DRAFT ARRIVES WELCOME AT WANGANUI Glad to be back after a long period of service overseas, Wanganui and district sailors, soldic/s and airmen who disembarked from the transport Mooltan in Wellington yesterday travelled home by special train, arriving early last night. They were given a warm welcome by large crowds that had assembled at Aramoho Junction and the city station, specially decorated with Hags and bunting. Because of a delayed departure from Wellington, the train was more than an hour late when it began its journey, but was less than an hour behind schedule when it arrived at Aramoho at 7.41 p.m. The connecting train for Wanganui reached the city station at 8.9. Representatives of the Wanganui City Council, R.S.A. and other organisations in the city were at Aramoho and Wanganui to greet the men informally. There were no speeches of welcome, but the men will be entertained at a civic reception and complimentary luncheon in the R.S.A. Hall to-morrow.

The Mooltan brought servicemen from the United Kingdom, calling at Suez on her way out to embark 2nd. N.Z.E.F. personnel. Thai; they are home in time for Christmas is reason for special rejoicing. Also at the Wanganui station to meet the. men was the Band of the 2nd. N.Z. Armoured Regiment which played stirring martial airs as the train drew to a standstill.
