£100 FINE FOR BOOKMAKING
(P.A.) Wellington, Nov. 22. Edward Clarence Brimfield. aged 55, a labourer, was fined £lOO for bookmaking by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. The police stated that accused, who pleaded guilty, had no previous conviction for that type of offence. He had run a double on the Auckland meeting and taken £3 Jus in bets.
