BUS SERVICE FROM NORTH WANTED
WANGANUI GIRLS’ AND TECHNICAL COLLEGES. Parents of pupils attending the Wanganui Technical College nnd Girls’ College, who live,- in Waitotara, Nukumaru and Kai Iwi, are urging the establishment of a bus service. At present the pupils from the areas mentioned travel by an unscheduled goods train, which, because of delays, causes many lost hours a week In study at school.
The matter was mentioned at the monthly meeting of the Board of Managers of the Technical College, and it was decided to ask the Education Department to expedite its decls;on with regard to the establishment of rhe bus service.
It was stated that difficulty was being experienced in finding a bus owner who would undertake to provide the service. It was suggested that if the Education Department would formallv approve of the service the parents of the pupils affected might, themselves be able to assist in securing the necessary transport.
