Miss I. M. Henderson, matron of the Otaki Sanatorium, has been appointed matron of the New Plymouth Hospital, in succession to Miss N. Knight, who has resigned to take up the position of first assistant matron of the Wellington Hospital.
Sir Patrick Duff, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, accompanied by Lady Duff, will leave Wellington on Saturday morning for Nelson, where he will open the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show in the afternoon. They will return to Wellington on the folfowing Monday.
Mr. C. N. Armstrong, who recently returned from overseas service with the 2nd. N.Z.E.F., has been elected to a vacancy on the executive committee of the Wanganui R.S.A., replacing Mr. W. S. McCrorie, vice-president and member of the committee. Mr. McCrorie, who has served as a member of the executive for more than 10 years, was accorded a vote of thanks for the valuable work he has done for the association.
