MRS. J. G. DENNISTON FAREWELLED

TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD MEETING. Mrs. J. G. Denniston, a former president of the Wanganui Townswomen’s Guild, who is leaving at the end of the year to reside in Gisborne, was farewelled at the monthly meeting held on Wednesday in the Y.M.-Y.W.C.A. Lounge and presented with a gift box of flowers. Mrs. M. A. Archibald (president), who presided, spoke of the work done by Mrs. Denniston for the Guild. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs. Soundy, who is in the Wellington Hospital as the result of an accident which befell her during a visit to that city. Several members who had been ill were welcomed back to the guild. After the business and correspondence was dealt, with, a talk on “Care of the Hair” was given by Mrs. Rowe, who was thanked for her informative address. Songs by Mi’s. J. Hodges and Mrs. Atkinson were eru joyed, the accompaniste being Mrs. R. H. Tizard. Arrangements were discussed for the Christmas party, and an invitation was received from the Castlecliff Guild to attend their end of year meeting.
