WANGANUI ANNUAL MEETING. The Women's Christian Temperance Union held their annual meeting in St. Alban's Hall on Thursday. There was a good attendance of very interested members. Miss Appleby led the devotions and gave a very encouring message. Mrs. Bloor gave a very comprehensive report of the recent District Convent ion. »
The reports of each section were read, which showed a year of progress for the branch.
Miss Christie received 37 bags for seamen from the members, which she packs and posts every year to New Plymouth. Mrs. Shute was presented with a long service badge. The election of officers resulted as folows: President. Mrs. Day; vicepresidents, Mrs. Hoare and Wyness; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Robb; recording secretary, Mi's. Jones; treasurer, Mrs. Shute; White Ribbon agent, Mrs. Connybeer; Cradle Roll superintendent, Mrs. Ogier; Y.S. superintendent, Mrs. Bloat; L. I .L. superintendent, Mrs. Ogier; Birthday League, Mrs. Walker. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Walker and Young. A Cradle Roll party is to be held on the fourth Saturday in N o v e m b e r.
