BULLS NEWS
YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB MEMORIAL APPEAL (0.C.) Bulls, Nov. 15. To-night (Thursday) the Bulls District Young Farmers’ Club is holding a victory ball in order to play its part in raising funds for the proposed Y.F.C. memorial. The Bulls Club ha& a proud war record. No less than 17 of its members went overseas, while other§ served in the home forces. It is most pleasing to note that all members who went overseas have either returned or will be returning. There have been representatives in all three services—Army, Navy and Air Force. During the war many clubs throughout the Dominion went into recess but the Bulls Club kept alive and from time to time contacted members overseas, both by letter and by parcels. The many letters of gratitude received more than paid for this small effort and in no small way brought to notice the value of the Y.F.C. movement. The comradeship fostered in the club at home went with the boys when they journeyed forth and on thte various battlefields they formed Y.F. clubs with memberships running into hundreds.
It is with confidence that the club appeals for support for this appeal to raise funds for a memorial to the young farmers of New Zealand. Although no definite decision has yet been reached, the memorial is intended to be one that will be useful and educational to the young farmers of the Dominion. Every effort. Is being made to make the ball at. Bulls to-night an outstanding one and arrangements have been made to receive a large crowd. Excellent music will be supplied and a suitable supper served. An enjoyable evening for all is inevitable.
