TRIBUTE TO MR. W. J. JORDAN
(P.A.) Christchurch, Nov. 12. Tributes to the work done by Mr. W. J. Jordan as New Zealand's High Commissioner in London for the past nine years were paid at a civic reception held in the City Council Chamber this afternoon, to welcome him and Mrs. Jordan to the city. There was a and representative gathering of citizens. The Mayor, Mr. E. 11. Andrews, who presided, said that the city honoured Mr. and Mrs. Jordan for their line service in Britain, ard particularly for their work on behalf of servicemen. It was a great privilege for him to have come in contact with Now Zealanders in the services, said Mr. Jordan. As far as his work was concerned, there was no room for party politics.
