MORE VANDALISM
PHOTOS AND ALBUMS TORN IT An example of vandalism, apparently by children, is given by a resident of Anzac Parade, Mr. A. E. Chesswas. He is a returned serviceman and is building a residence. He and his wife have been living in a caravan, which has been parked between two houses on Anzac Parade, close up against a washhouse. Children apparently opened a window of the caravan and ransacked it. There were a number of photo albums, containing, in addition to a Large number of views collected by Mr. Chesswas overseas, photos of great persona! value.
The albums were stripped, the best Photos removed, many others torn and thrown away. Quite a number of the missing photographs have since been recovered on the river bank, under a hydrangea bush. A clock was taken also.
The matter is in the hands of the police. Marks underneath the window where entry was gained to the caravan confirm that the intruders were children.
