Members of the Marton Gun Club are reminded of the special general meeting to be held in the Marton Jockey Club's rooms to-night (Tuesday) at 8 p.m. Members are particularly requested to attend and a cordial invitation is extended to ethers interested. RANGITIKEI CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Rangitikei Cricket Association on Saturday evening, it was decided to forward direct to the N.Z. Cricket Council a challenge for a Hawke Cup match this season. The entrance gates to the association grounds are to be painted. It. was decided to write to the Taihape Association asking if they wish to affiliate or if individual clubs desired to affiliate with a view to selecting players for the Hawke Cup as they would like a match with a view to selecting players as soon as possible.

Mr. D. A. Cameron was appointed sole selector.

The afternoon tea adjournment was fixed at 15 minutes from the time of the team leaving the field. It was decided to write Wanganui Association with a view to a representative fixture at New Year at Wanganui, also to South Taranaki for a representative match in February. The positions of the teams after Saturday's matches are as follows: Porewa 8 points, Marton 6 points, Old Boys 5 points and M.D.H. School 1 point. The points count as follows: Win outright, 5 points; first innings, 4 points; tie, 3 points; draw, 2 points; for a loss if not beaten outright 1 point. The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be held on November 24. Mr. H. F. Arkwright presided over Messrs. G. L. Marshall, H. Parkes, J. Grant, D. H. Barr, C. A. Tidy. N. V. Rix-Trott, J. A special general meeting of the Greatford Athletic Club has been called for Wednesday, November 14 at 7.30 p.m. and is to be held In the Greatford School. All members are urged to attend. The business will include discussion of the winding up of the Social Committee and the disposal of the funds of the club. SOUTH AFRICAN WAR VETERANS “FLAG 500.” There was a large attendance at the last of the series of "Flag 500” evenings held in Gould’s Tea Rooms on Thursday evening, at the winning table were: Mesrs. J. Blackwell!, L. D. Knight, G. T. Sanders and Thrupp. Second prize winners were Miss V. Johnston, Mrs. L. Sanders, Messrs. A. Johnston and H. Carpenter. Mystery prizes were won by Mrs. W. Hamer and Mr. S. Abbott. Competitions were won by Mrs. Bolstad, Miss V. Johnston, Messrs. Thrupp, S. Frederick, and G. Henderson, who kindly donated his prize back to the fund. Amongst those present were Mr. Metcalfe, president of the ManawatuRangitikei S.A.V. Association and Messrs. Burns, Doige, and Darling, members of the Executive Committee. During the evening Mr. L. Gordon thanked all the players, donation givers and all those who had assisted in making these evenings enjoyable and successful. Mr. Gordon then introduced the president who thanked those present for attending the evenings and stated that the proceeds from these card evenings amounting to about £75, would be well spent, and much appreciated by the older members of the association, who are in ill health and need assistance. He also thanked Mr. and Mrs. L. Gordon and their willing helpers who had done so much to make these popular evenings such a financial success.

OHINGAITI GOSPEL HALL NEWS “What will happen when Christ returns?” This is the title of another special address on Bible prophecy to be given by C. C. Graham, evangelist, in the Gospel Hall, Ohingaiti on Wednesday, November 14, at 7.30 p.m. The revolutionary changes and events which will take place when Christ comes again need not take by surprise any who hear this address on Wednesday evening. Nigel Williams took the service and the subject for his sermon was “Fellowship,” which was listened to with undivided attention.
